Chris counsels clients on a wide variety of intellectual property matters, including patent portfolio management and prosecution of U.S. and foreign patent applications. He performs patent landscape analyses to assess freedom-to-operate, patentability, and invalidity issues, and his experience also includes IP litigation and inter partes review (IPR) proceedings. He has experience across a broad range of technologies, including surgical and medical devices, pharmaceutical compositions, active pharmaceutical ingredient processing, cosmetics, polymers, coating and surface technologies, boiler and emission control systems, aerospace systems, textile machinery, and cooking appliances.

Before law school, Chris earned his M.S. in Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh. There, he developed novel methodology towards the total synthesis of natural products. Chris then worked as a medicinal chemist with the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research, Inc. and a pharmaceutical sales representative with Eli Lilly & Co.

Chris currently serves on the Board of Directors of Salem Regional Medical Center and the Advisory Board of WYSU. He is also a member of the Cleveland Intellectual Property Law Association.
