Inclusion and Diversity
At Pearne & Gordon, we have committed to formalizing our inclusion and diversity efforts firmwide through the creation of an Inclusion & Diversity initiative. Through this initiative, we work to foster an environment of respect and inclusiveness for all employees, and to look for, create, and enhance opportunities for networking, mentoring, and promoting women, people of color, and LGBTQ+ individuals. We are proud that women and minorities are represented in our firm’s management committee, and that approximately 25 percent of our lawyers are women and/or people of color. Our firm is a member of the Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCAA) and we sponsor several programs at local schools that nurture and develop STEM education among women, people of color, and first generation college students.
Our firm is proud to serve the Greater Cleveland community through volunteerism—individually and together. Many of our lawyers serve on boards and/or volunteer for dozens of local charity and assistance organizations, including (but not limited to) the Boy Scouts, CMBA’s Ethics and Professionalism Committee, Fairfield Ruritan (community service organization), the Girl Scouts, GriefShare (a grief recovery support group), the League of Women Voters, the Patent Pro Bono program, 10,000 Small Businesses, Life Act (focused on teenagers and mental health), Ronald McDonald House (Akron), Salem Regional Medical Center, and WYSU. We are also a proud sponsor of the 2018 Opioid Summit, an initiative of the U.S. Attorney’s Heroin and Opioid Task Force.
