Steven J. Solomon

Steve counsels clients on a wide variety of intellectual property matters, including the licensing and leveraging of proprietary technologies and inventions. He also drafts and assists clients to negotiate a variety of agreements, including for the protection and licensing of proprietary technology, as well as joint-development and cooperative business (exclusive supply) agreements. Steve advises and renders opinions regarding the patentability of inventions, freedom to operate and infringement. He also prepares and prosecutes patent applications in the chemical, biochemical and mechanical arts, and has experience filing trademark and copyright applications. In addition to counseling, Steve handles a variety of patent, trademark and copyright disputes. He has experience litigating patent and copyright disputes in federal court, as well as trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board at the USPTO.

Prior to joining Pearne & Gordon, Steve was a chemical engineer at Adsorption Research, Inc., a small R&D firm. At ARI, Steve evaluated adsorbent materials and assisted in the design, construction, testing and data analysis of numerous pilot-scale systems to perform chemical separations.

Steve is a member of the Cleveland Intellectual Property Law Association and the American Intellectual Property law Association.
